Amy R Bhedwar (1942 – 2015) 4th Varsi prayers
Mrs Amy Rustom Bhedwar passed away on Khordad Sal, Sunday 23rd August 2015, Fravardin mah, Khordad roj as per the Shahenshahi calendar. Amy was devoted to her husband Ervad Rustom K Bhedwar and her son Ervad Zubin, and her immense pride in coming from an athornan family. Amy was the first cousin to the late Vada Dasturji Kekobad Dastoor of Iranshah, Udvada, and aunt of our current Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastur Kekobad Dastoor of Iranshah, Udvada. Amy was fully supportive of Ervad Rustom who has served the ZTFE and the Zoroastrian community not only as a senior Mobed, but has also served as our Trustee for the past 9 years and previously served as ZTFE Vice President. He has been immensely popular in interfaith work and has always brought credit and distinction to our Anjuman. Amy and Ervad Rustom were also founder members of the Harrow Zoroastrian Group.
On 30th September 2000, when ZTFE took possession of the Zoroastrian Centre (New Premises), the then President, Dorab E Mistry, asked 2 wonderful dedicated ladies to do the Aachoo Michoo and take the first entry footsteps into the Zoroastrian Centre. Those two ladies were, Amy Rustom Bhedwar and Najoo Jalbhai Karkaria. In a small way, this was to acknowledge the lifelong service both these ladies had given to the ZTFE and the Zoroastrian community – by supporting and assisting Ervad Rustom and the Late Ervad Jalbhai through decades of selfless service. If ZTFE in the post 2000 era has been so successful, it is because of the divine blessings that Amy and Najoo invoked on that auspicious day.
